ABOUT KATE

Kate Nelson is an Australian yoga teacher, dancer, somatic practitioner and mystic with more than 25 years of experience guiding women through the sacred terrain of pregnancy, birth and early motherhood.

Her approach weaves anatomy and physiology, somatic embodiment, yoga philosophy and the raw lived wisdom of a woman who has birthed four children of her own. She brings all of this — and her life as a dancer — into teaching that is simultaneously rigorous and deeply feminine, grounded and alive.

Kate has been teaching Yoga for 25+ years.

A Senior Yoga Australia teacher, former director of Fremantle Yoga Centre and Off the Wall, and director of a two-year teacher training from 2007–2024, Kate has inspired a generation of teachers across Australia. As a Yoga Birthing Doula she has supported many women through labour, presented at conferences across Australia and internationally.

Driven always by the belief that,
the way we are born matters.

Her training in somatic therapy, embodiment practices and trauma-informed care shapes everything she offers. She teaches women to listen to the felt sense — to the quiet intelligence that already knows how to grow a baby and how to birth one.

Kate's love of community is tangible. She guides women fearlessly inward, to form a lasting bond between their own heart and the baby growing in their belly. Known locally as the baby whisperer, she brings warmth, precision and complete presence to every woman she works with.

"Women don't realise what they are capable of until they reach pregnancy. My greatest delight is witnessing a woman fully realise how powerful and amazing her body truly is."
